Poly shakes her head, wondering how long this respite, this convalescence
will take. Sourcerer's making great progress (he's stopped drooling on
himself, and the clean clothes are an improvement), though, and she's
very proud of him, 'cause she knows how much effort it's taking.

She tries to make herself sound as convincing as possible, hoping that
her optimism will be contagious.

Hmmmmmmm... Poly gives him a long hard stare, and Sourcerer glances
away. If it weren't for Lisa being nearby, she would think twice about
leaving him alone this way. Eyebrown's working on the yard, too, and
between the two of them, they should be able to handle any emergencies
that might come up.

("I knew it" Poly thinks to herself... she has *very* good hearing)

Poly, in an unprecedented act of selflessness, is going back to school.
She hasn't set foot in a classroom in over 12 years, but is making the
sacrifice for her beloved punks. *Somebody* has to infiltrate the enemy
camp and spy, and she's completely confident in her abilities to blend
in, and observe without being noticed. The Angeli Caduti consulted the
oracle, and gave Poly the advice to take a UNIX/C, C++ class, and that's
exactly what she's done.

The little red plaid skirt and white blouse, white ankle socks and
loafers were laid out for her the night before, and her Gilligan's Island
lunch box contains a crunchy peanut butter/marshmallow creme sandwich, a
piece of leftover pie, and a thermos of Earl Grey tea. She skips down
the road towards the schoolhouse, filled with the confidence that can
only come from having a calculator with fresh batteries (charged by
Eyebrown's daemon, it should take care of *all* the math she might need),
and an aqua-reggia water pistol tucked into her waistband. She looks
like any other student, but you never know when your cover can be blown...

She's looking forward to school a lot, and has promised to take really
good notes, so that when the punks ask her: "what did you learn in school
today, Poly?", she can remember.
